CheckProof, the operations management platform built for heavy industry, has published Mind the Gap: A Construction Materials Industry Benchmark Report, a survey-based study of 107 professionals across quarrying, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, cement, and recycling.
The findings challenge a common assumption: that the industry lacks data. 79% of respondents collect operational data regularly. The problem is what happens next with 56% say they are not getting full value from it. The breakdown is not at the front end: 58% log issues the same day they are identified. The real bottleneck is review, approval, follow-up, and close-out.
The report identifies four interconnected gaps: The Data Gap, the Execution Gap, the Tool Gap, and the Priority Gap and includes a framework with eight sequenced recommendations developed by Tom O'Boyle, CheckProof's Chief Product Officer, drawing on 13 years in engineering and maintenance operations including nine years at Heidelberg Materials.
